PLEASE FOLLOW OUR FACEBOOK PAGE FOR FREQUENT UPDATES
Thank you for joining the Myositis Moon Walk Launch Team. We could not make this event happen without your generous sponsorship. This page contains information to help you prepare for the event due to the unique nature of these facilities.
Please check back a week prior to the event for any updates.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Benita Moyers at benita@understandingmyositis.org.
You should also receive a sponsor email with her cell phone number and additional updates.
MSU Vice-President Benita Moyers lives in the Huntsville area. If you have any area questions, you can reach out to her at benita@understandingmyositis.org.
Due to limited space, presenter tables will be 40"L x 20"W at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. Table locations will be posted once we receive the floor plans from the facilities coordinators. Table information for the Huntsville Botanical Gardens will be announced soon.
Please let us know if you will need a tablecloth or if you will provide you own.
Due to facility rules and hours, we can't set up until the morning of each event so we recommend keeping your table simple. You will check in with Elisa Glass or Lynn Wilson. We will begin setting up promptly at 8:30 am for The Patient Voice Workshop and 9:00 am for The Myositis Moon Walk. We plan to have volunteers on site to help.
We are creating goody bags for each participant. We will have different bags for the kids. If you have items that you would like placed in the bags, please ship those to Benita Moyers at her Alabama address by April 15th. Contact her for her shipping address.
Please look at the maps for each facility for suggested parking and specific entry details to the facilities below.
We learned last year that many of the hotels do not have shuttles from the airport. The majority of the participants used car services such as Uber. Please be sure to call ahead to determine your best transporation too and from the airport, hotels, and venues.
The Three Myositis Musketeers (Benita Moyers, Jessica Taylor, and Jason Hopfauf will be conducting short interviews throughout the weekend. Please take a few minutes after the walk to chat with them and share your Moon Walk highlights. These will be shared on this website and the MSU YouTube channel. You can see past episodes of their News Videos there.
More details to come.
For The Patient Voice Workshop, we recommend that you park in the Blue Parking Lot. There are side doors that we can let you enter with your supplies. Your contacts that morning will be Lynn Wilson and Elisa Glass.
The U.S. Space & Rocket Center is granting us the use of a special entrance which is located next to the Pathfinder Shuttle. They will open the game from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Once you enter the gates, walk around behind the shuttle to the white metal building. This is the Astrotrek Building. Come to the door on the right side of the building. We hope to have a few rolling carts there to help.
